Product description

Tropical Coconut is a professional smoothing treatment by Lana Brasiles. Its current formula is free from glyoxylic acid. It is designed to align the hair while maintaining a supple appearance and movement.

What results can I expect?

A smoothing effect and a softer feel. Results and their duration depend on hair condition, the protocol and maintenance.

Hair types

Wavy or curly hair. Bleached hair requires a specific assessment: blonde colour alone does not establish whether the treatment is suitable.

How to use & frequency

For professional application only. These steps are a guide for Tropical Coconut; the instructions for the formula received determine processing times, rinsing and settings.

  1. Assessment and tests : Check the scalp, the strength of the lengths and previous treatments. Carry out a strand test and any other preliminary tests required by the instructions. Do not proceed if the result is unfavourable.
  2. Preparation wash : Cleanse with the preparation shampoo specified by the protocol, then rinse thoroughly.
  3. Pre-drying : Towel-dry, then pre-dry to the moisture level specified on the bottle. Detangle and divide the hair into sections.
  4. Section-by-section application : Use a brush to distribute the product over fine sections, keeping at least 1 cm away from the scalp and avoiding contact with it. Comb through for even distribution without overloading.
  5. Processing time : Set a timer for the duration suited to the assessment, within the current instructions’ limits. Monitor the test strand; do not exceed the stated time to seek a straighter result.
  6. Rinsing : Rinse out the proportion specified for this formula. Do not use a percentage intended for another smoothing treatment or another version.
  7. Blow-drying until completely dry : Carry out the blow-dry specified by the protocol. Hair must be completely dry before using a straightener intended for dry hair.
  8. Straightening and finishing : Work in fine sections with a professional appliance that maintains a stable temperature. Adjust the heat and number of passes to the instructions and strand test. Allow to cool, then carry out only the rinsing and finishing steps specified for this version.

Adjustments for different hair types

  • Fine, porous or weakened hair : Adjust the amount to avoid overloading. The professional adapts the settings within the permitted limits; an unfavourable strand test rules out application.
  • Thick, very curly or resistant hair : Work in smaller sections and distribute evenly. Resistant hair does not justify exceeding processing-time or heat limits.
  • Blonde, bleached or coloured hair : Check strength and colour changes on the test strand. Select the temperature according to the instructions and assessment, not hair colour alone.
  • Natural roots and previously treated lengths : Assess the two areas separately. Do not automatically repeat the same treatment on weakened lengths.

Frequency: determine after a fresh assessment, based on regrowth and the condition of the lengths. The 100 ml size has the same requirements as the 1 L size. Do not mix smoothing treatments outside a validated manufacturer protocol.
