Detangling: the critical step during transition

When you stop chemical relaxing, the point where natural roots meet still-straightened lengths is the most fragile part of the hair. This is where detangling matters. Skala designs Crespo Divino for these two textures together: the brand identifies curly, very curly and transitioning hair as its target, without a curl-pattern code.

What the manufacturer states

Skala lists cationic conditioning agents, humectants, plant oils and butters, and a slightly acidic pH. The combination is designed to provide slip when detangling, soften the hair fibre and help limit frizz without weighing hair down.

How to apply

After shampooing, squeeze out excess water by hand, then apply generously from lengths to ends, never to the roots. Leave on for two to three minutes. Detangle in the shower with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb while the product is still in place, then rinse with lukewarm water. Use at every wash.

1 - Wash and rinse your hair 💦

2 - Wring well (microfiber towel, without rubbing) to remove excess water.

3 - Apply 1-2 pea-sized amounts to the lengths and ends (avoid the roots if you have fine hair) 🧴

4 - Gently detangle with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, from the ends to the roots 🪮

5 - Leave on for 1–3 minutes (up to 5 minutes if hair is very dry) ⏱️

6 - Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, then a splash of cool water for a smoother cuticle 🚿

7 - Dry without rubbing and scrunch your curls; apply your leave-in conditioner/gel then air dry or use a low-heat diffuser 🌀
